
Microsoft has finally released the developer preview for its upcoming operating system, this is of course the highly anticipated Windows 8
. This new operating system from Redmond looks extremely promising and most notably, it will also support ARM processors. It is now available for download at dev.microsoft.com

There are of course some major changes in Windows 8, the most important one is its new Metro UI, derived from the user interface of Windows Phone 7, optimized for usage on desktops, laptops and tablets. So far Windows 8 looks great and it has got a very positive response from the web. Steve Ballmer also mentioned that it got downloaded over half a million times in the same night it became available for download.
This seems like a completely fresh direction which Microsoft has finally initiated as it brings in a host of dramatic changes. While the operating system has been fully capable for running on touchscreen devices, the company has also mentioned that it will work seamlessly with desktops with keyboards and mosue.
