HTC recently launched entry-level smartphone will soon include support for text input and display for Hindi and Tamil. This support will come to the HTC Explorer making it the first device to officially get such support in India. This new update will allow users to view and create content in Hindi and Tamil on all compatible Android applications.
This seems like a great move from the Taiwanese manufacturer as this will certainly make it much simpler for many users to conveniently understand the fey functions of an Android smartphone. It will mainly allow users to access Hindi and Tamil websites and receive text messages and emails in any of these languages. It is unclear whether these changes will be visible throughout the smartphone’s UI.
HTC has also mentioned that they are working on expanding the list of supported languages for India and hope to make it available in future HTC smartphones launched in the country. Apparently, the company Explorer will get an OTA update starting Friday which will include the language pack.
